SHADES OF THE DESERT QUILT

The inspiration for the colors of this quilt draws from my time doing geologic research in the Tonopah, NV area. The browns and tans in the quilt reflect the colors of the naked terrain of the region. The greens reflect the tough desert vegetation. The overall color scheme is meant to mimic the sense of harmony and balance of the stark natural environment of Tonopah.

The pattern used for this quilt is The Shades of Summer Quilt pattern by Jasmin Hartnell. The pattern was purchased on Etsy.

Purple Bobbin did the quilting. The pantograph used on the quilt is Woven Wind

The fabric is Kona Cotton and the colors  from green at the top to brown at the bottom are:

The backing fabric is titled Kokopelli Turmeric by Capricorn Sun. The fabric was purchased from Spoonflower.
