At the heart of A is For lies the marriage between social justice and the arts. The organizers found inspiration in Hester Prynne's Scarlet A, which they repurposed as a symbol for their organization.  The meaning behind the A is in your hands - it can stand for Abortion, Access, Advocacy, or Autonomy.

THE STRUGGLE FOR WOMEN'S RIGHTS QUILT

The jagged edge featured in the quilt depicts the fracturing of women's rights in the U.SThank you to "A is For" for taking action to help remedy this break.

The quilting pattern was inspired by Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her dissent collar. 

Purple Bobbin did the quilting. The pantograph used on the quilt is Dissent.
